Dennis Carey

Dennis Carey is Vice Chairman at Korn/Ferry International, specializing in the recruitment of CEOs and corporate directors for fortune 500 companies

In recent years, he conducted successful searches for CEOs of 3M, Tyco International, and MCI, among others. In addition, Mr. Carey managed the recruiting process for corporate boards at dozens of companies, including American Express, CBS, Tyco International, GlaxoSmithKline, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch. He serves as a director at AirClic, The Edgewater Funds and Wharton's Director's Institute, which he co-founded. Mr. Carey has published three books related to his business experience: CEO Succession, The Human Side of M&A, and How to Run a Company.
Bill Carson
Managing Director, Hudson Ventures

Bill Carson joined Hudson Ventures in 2002, focusing on early stage companies in the areas of financial technology and wireless and business application software.

He also represents Hudson on the board of directors of Integral, Pivot, and Scanbuy and was responsible for firm's investment in Guardent before it was sold to Verisign. Prior to joining Hudson, Mr. Carson ran Citigroup's Strategic Investment Group, co-founded the Citigroup Technology Investment Fund, served on the Investment Committee for the firm's Fund of Funds and was a member of the corporation's Internet Operating Group. In addition to his venture capital experience, Mr. Carson managed Citigroup's internal M&A team during the 1990s where he was responsible for all of Citigroup's acquisitions and divestitures. He began his career as a product engineer at IBM working in both the storage and software manufacturing businesses. Mr. Carson earned undergraduate degrees in engineering and economics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Simon Pelman

With nearly four decades of business experience, Simon Pelman is a pioneer and innovator in the industry of health care administration.

He served as President and CEO of numerous New York City-area residential health care facilities that included over 1,000 beds and generated in excess of $100 million per year. Mr. Pelman brings his unparalleled business acumen to guide the company's expansion to serve the healthcare industry’s connection to barcode technology. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bernard M. Baruch College, along with a Post Masters Certificate in Gerontological Practice from Adelphi University, and an Associate Degree in Community Health Education from Hunter/Mt. Sinai Geriatric Health Center. Mr. Pelman has received numerous congressional citations and an accommodation for 25 years of community board service from the Queens Borough President.
Stephen K. Smith

As a former All-Star Analyst who led Paine Webber’s technology research group, Steve Smith has been a partner of Masthead Venture for 11 years.

His credentials include being named ten times to the Institutional Investor All-Star team, and twice as the Wall Street Journal Analyst of the Year. He held systems engineering and sales positions with ICL, and is a member of Common Angels. Mr. Smith earned an MBA from Harvard and a Computer Science Degree from Brighton Polytechnic University. He is a current board member of Packet Design, and formerly served on boards at Bitpipe (acquired by TechTarget), Ecount (acquired by Citigroup) and Tizor Systems (acquired by Netezza).
Tony Palcheck
Managing Director, Motorola Solutions Ventures

Tony Palcheck is a managing director at Motorola Ventures, based in Schaumburg, Illinois.

In this role, he is responsible for identifying and executing strategic, minority-equity investments in start-up firms to accelerate access to new technologies, future markets, and developing talent for all Motorola businesses. Prior to joining Motorola Ventures, Mr. Palcheck was a director in the Corporate Business Intelligence group at Motorola where he was responsible for identifying emerging technologies and researching potential investments, divestitures, acquisitions and alliances. He joined the Intelligence group from Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group, leading the next generation cellular market requirements of research, forecasting and segmentation. Mr. Palcheck earned an undergraduate degree in marketing and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, where he graduated with honors. Mr. Palcheck serves as an adjunct professor of marketing at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Mike Wehrs

Dedicated to the wireless world for over ten years, Mike Wehrs has held key positions that contributed to shaping the industry’s boundless future.

Most recently, Mr. Wehrs was Global CEO and President of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), comprised of leading aggregators, agencies, brands, carriers, and developers in the wireless industry. In that role, he provided inspiring leadership for the organization’s 700-plus members, representing more than 40 countries worldwide. Mr. Wehrs’ comprehensive resume includes executive management roles at companies such as Nuance Communications, Inc., Microsoft Corporation, AOL, Ignition Corp., and Samsung Electronics. He has participated on a number of standards boards for the industry, including CTIA, OMA, .mobi, Bluetooth SIG, WAP Forum, and QIC committee. Currently active on the board of BNET Communications, Mr. Wehrs is an advisor to several notable companies in the mobile marketing business. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Information Science from Syracuse University.
Yves Raymond
Board Observer, Motorola Mobility

Yves Raymond is responsible for defining the investment pipeline and executing on investments through partnerships, joint ventures, venture investments and acquisitions for Motorola Mobility’s mobile devices business.

He led many of Motorola’s recent acquisitions such as Zecter Inc, Aloqa GmgH, 3LM and Soundbuzz, and was instrumental in the divestiture of several Motorola development sites in Europe. Mr. Raymond started his career with Motorola in Ottawa, Canada and held key management positions in sales, marketing and product development for numerous Motorola operations over the past 22 years. He gained extensive international product marketing experience with a focus on launching products globally. Mr. Raymond serves as a Board Observer and Director for BlackArrow, Inc.
